ATF Compliance

Pawn shops are required by law to keep an ATF gun log, also known as an acquisition and disposition (A&D) book, in order to track the buying and selling of firearms. The ATF gun log is a detailed record of all firearms transactions that take place at the pawnshop, including the make, model, serial number, and caliber of each firearm, as well as the date of the transaction and the name and contact information of the person involved.

The purpose of the ATF gun log is to help law enforcement agencies track the movement of firearms and prevent the illegal transfer of guns. Pawnshops are required to record all firearms transactions in their ATF gun log, including purchases, sales, loans, and trades. They are also required to keep the ATF gun log on site at all times and make it available for inspection by law enforcement agencies upon request.

In addition to tracking firearms transactions, the ATF gun log can also be a valuable tool for pawnshops to manage their inventory and ensure compliance with federal and state laws. Pawnshops can use the ATF gun log to keep track of the firearms they have in stock and identify any potential issues, such as stolen guns or guns that have been used in a crime.

In summary, the ATF gun log is a crucial part of operating a pawnshop. It is a detailed record of all firearms transactions that helps law enforcement agencies track the movement of guns and prevent the illegal transfer of firearms. Pawnshops are required to keep an ATF gun log on site at all times and make it available for inspection upon request. The ATF gun log can also be a valuable tool for pawnshops to manage their inventory and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.

FFL Look up Tool

PawnMate’s Federal Firearms License (FFL) look up tool is a tool that allows pawn shops to search the database of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for information on federally licensed firearms dealers, also known as FFL holders. The FFL look up tool can be used to verify the status of an FFL holder and ensure that they are currently active.

To use PawnMate’s FFL look up tool, you will need to enter the FFL number of the FFL holder you are searching for or by adding an FFL dealer in the customer profile along with their FFL number. The FFL look up tool will then retrieve information about the FFL holder, including their name, address, issue date, and expiration date.
